CHAR 1/22/14 Letter from Joseph Chamberlain [Secretary of State for the Colonies] (Highbury, Moor Green, Birmingham) to WSC, on his visit to South Africa as a correspondent for the Morning Post. Chamberlain states that he had received WSC's telegraph and would write to Sir Alfred Milner [Governor of the Cape of Good Hope] that night, asking him to help WSC as the son of Chamberlain's old friend [Lord Randolph Churchill], and assures WSC that Milner would do all he could to help him.
