Scope/content:

Correspondents on the bill include: Herbert Williams [Director, Empire Industries Association] on objections to the bill; Ernest Haigh [Ernest Varley-Haigh], Chairman, Horrockses, Crewdson and Company Limited, on the possible benefits of the bill; Patrick Donner; various mill directors and members of the cotton industry on the heavy tax proposed in the bill to pay for the scrapping of surplus equipment, the resulting unemployment and fall in the export market, asking WSC to vote against the bill and thanking him for his support.
