Letter from James Caird (Roseangle, Dundee, [Angus, Scotland]) to WSC urging that the 'magic lantern' lectures on Free Trade should continue [despite the favourable general election results] to convert "the well to do classes" who are "heterodox" on the issue. Praises WSC's "The River War" and mentions that he had the continuation of the story from General Sir Reginald Wingate [later Bart.] in Khartoum [Sudan] in 1901.
