Scope/content:

Correspondents on the claims of the Hapsburg family (the Royal family of Austria-Hungary) to lands in Czechoslovakia include: [1st Lord] Southborough [earlier Francis Hopwood] on subjects including arrangements for WSC to meet members of the Hapsburg family (5); E Rechnitzer on subjects including the claims of the family and his contacts with Prince Max Hohenlohe (27); E Dalby, Private Secretary to Rechnitzer (4); "Van", Sir Robert Vansittart, Under Secretary of State at the Foreign Office on WSC's position as Chairman of a private committee to aid the family's claims; Charles Nicholl of Nicholl, Manistry and Company (WSC's solicitor) on the terms of WSC's appointment as chairman (4); and Sir John Simon, Foreign Secretary (2).

Also includes: copies of letters from WSC to the individuals mentioned above; official reports and papers on relevant extracts from the Trianon peace treaty and the Hague conference; newspaper cuttings; and a report from Monsieur S de Charmant on payments to the "B" fund from which the Hapsburg family hoped to claim.
