He reports that "Jack" [John S Churchill] is keen on photography and that he is looking forward to receiving news of her and "Papa" [Lord Randolph Churchill]. 08 Oct [1894]
CHAR 28/20/42 Letter from WSC ([Harrow School [Middlesex]) to "Mamma" [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he expresses his pleasure at receiving her letter and concern at the news about the health of "Papa" [Lord Randolph Churchill] from Dr Keith and the effect the news has had on "Grandmamma" [Frances, Duchess of Marlborough]. He also says that he would like to meet his parents in India and is not keen to go to Germany, and reports that he has made "an essay in journalism" and has written letters about proposals to close the Empire [theatre, London]. CHAR 28/20/45-46 Letter from WSC (50 Grosvenor Square [London]) to "Mamma" [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he explains that he has persuaded Dr [Robson] Roose to give him details of the health of his father [Lord Randolph Churchill], that he had not been aware of the seriousness of [Lord Randolph's] illness and expresses his concern.
