Speech notes for WSC's speech (20 October 1945, Woodford [Essex]) on receiving the freedom of the Borough of Wanstead and Woodford on subjects including: his long association with Essex and his disappointment at not being re-elected. Also includes an invitation card for the event.

Hansard report and speech notes for WSC's speech (22 October 1945, House of Commons) on demobilisation of the forces in the army, navy and RAF and on the scheme proposed by Ernest Bevin [when Minister of Labour and National Service]. Source material includes: a letter from Frederick Leathers [former Minister of War Transport]; a statement by George Isaacs, Minister of Labour and National Service; and a copy of Hansard reporting on railways, transport, the Women's Land Army and political prisoners.
