Letter from "Jack" [John S Churchill] (Luxor [Egypt]) to "Mama" [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he describes his impressions of visiting Karnac by moonlight, commenting "it would never do to take a pretty girl there! We should get into trouble". He also notes that Cairns has made a poor impression; says that he was impressed by the dam at Assouan; reports that WSC has had a fall and advises her not to visit Monte Carlo as it is so expensive.
